Hello! I’m Mig Reyes, a designer from Chicago working as Director of Design for Tock.

I’m part of the small and mighty team at Tock where we help restaurants create better experiences for diners like you. Before Tock, I led brand and marketing at Basecamp (formerly 37signals) for four years. Before that, I cut my teeth doing marketing and UI design for Threadless.

I spend a lot of time with community outreach. I started the Chicago chapter of CreativeMornings, serve as Co-President for AIGA Chicago, and teach art direction and design within Chicago portfolio and tech schools. I also serve on several advisory boards for art, tech, and design organizations.

I’d like to be a better writer. I often write about design, craft, and workplace culture. Some favorite pieces: Try, try again, When culture turns to policy, and Reminder: Design is still about words.

I travel to give presentations on creativity and design. One of my favorite talks to give is the one I gave at CreativeMornings. It’s four pieces of weird and unusual advice that captures how I feel about living our lives as makers of things.

You can learn more about me.

Very nice to meet you
